My Approach

Having good health is not a test of willpower. It can’t be achieved with fad diets, unrealistic exercise programs or going from doctor to doctor. Making lasting change requires an intelligent plan that works for you. It’s discovering why you want great health and finding ways to fit routines, including healthy foods, movement and stress relief into your lifestyle.

As a Health Coach, it is my job to empower you to find ways to build new routines and habits that create growth and sustainable change.

When you partake in my Health & Wellness Coaching, I will act as the facilitator of  your behavior change. I will help you to identify strategies that fit into your lifestyle, provide accountability as you implement the changes, and help you to iterate and adapt as needed. This flexible approach with support is the key to positive health outcomes.

I use my strong compassion and empathy to create a relationship that fosters your personal health growth. Together, we’ll identify your strengths and skills to untap your potential, using evidence-based behavior change techniques focusing on your desired health outcomes.  

Health and Wellness Coaching focuses  on nutrition, movement and exercise, sleep, and stress management, as well as other aspects of health and wellness, driven by you, the client, and based on your values, beliefs and priorities.

New to health coaching?

Health Coaches help clients and patients with a variety of health issues, which may include weight loss, stress reduction, improving diet and exercise/movement, managing chronic health conditions, sleep hygiene, smoking cessation, and recovering or adjusting to a major health event, such as a heart attack. 

Health Coaching has been shown to:

  • Lower bad cholesterol
  • Reduce blood pressure
  • Improve blood sugar control
  • Improve body composition
  • Increase cardiorespiratory fitness

 

Trained health coaches use techniques that are scientifically shown to help people with behavior change. These include techniques such as positive psychology, motivational interviewing, goal setting with tools like SMART goals, cognitive behavior coaching and strength-based coaching as well as offering support and accountability and acting as an advocate for their clients.

I have extensive knowledge and training in health and wellness, specifically in nutrition and fitness and I have 30 years of experience working with clients one-on-one.

How It Works

While I do offer single sessions, most clients require a 12-session package with 12 consecutive sessions to build momentum and see results.

Each week, we’ll have an in-person or virtual session to refine short-term and long-term goals, review successes, and discuss where changes still need to be made.

Each session and program is customized to your unique needs. I’ll identify resources to help with your health and wellness goals and will utilize different tools and assessments so that we can measure your progress.
